Dogs have owners, cats have staff......

Appropriately enough, this black cat lives at my favourite art supplier, Chat Noir, although he is not the original black cat after which it was named.

I was tickled to see him lapping from this puddle on the roadside, because my cats tend to do the same thing. No matter how careful I am to make sure there is fresh water in their bowl, they will always choose to drink from some other place.

Fergie and Felicity both love jumping into the shower and bath after we have finished, and lapping the droplets around the drain. They will drink the green water from our garden water feature, and when we lived in our old house, the cats all contorted themselves in amazing ways to reach down and lap the swimming pool water, and the fish pond water, rather than drinking from their bowls. It makes no difference if I use filter water or tap water.

I guess the bottom line is, cats are perverse creatures, and if you are one of their willing slaves, you just have to accept that!

Too funny! (and I am only a year older than you!) We have dogs not cats ....never been a cat owner but I understand they are perverse! although...our dogs are just plain goofy! Have a good week! glad you liked my glass!

I am the slave of four cats now...wouldn't trade them for the world. I would recommend that you look up a blog called The Lucky Seven Cat Ranch and go October 13 of 2007 and there is a little cartoon video...we all laugh every time we watch it and I was a visitor to her sight I think when she first put it on. If you go and like it, let me know. It so describes one of our boys right now--only he isn't hungry, he is bored.

Just as an aside - Norway's most "famous" cabaret theatre is called "Chat Noir"...

I was not a cat lover until one adopted me.. thats a black cat as well. It rushes to meet folk in the street and knows when school in due to close as he sits by the fence and waits to be stroked... A very cleaver cat indeed.

We've been adopted by cats as well. They control my husband's plans.

I've an award for you at my blog. Do stop by to pick it up.

Oh this is a great capture, as the (real) photographers say. It makes you wonder if the cats are on to something. When I catch flowing spring water in my hand and drink, down in the monastery, it always tastes better than any tap or filtered or bottled water.

Respectfully accepting your not accepting a tag, my nomination remains. Have a great day at the spa. The kitties will manage without your presence for a bit.
