and so...another week begins

On Saturday we popped down for a flying visit to the Port, to hang a blind, and show my dad our place at the Hotel. ( If you aren't familiar with it, you can read all about it here.) I have never seen the harbour so packed, it seems the whole Chokka fleet was moored there, three abreast in places. This must be as a result of the horrible storm on Monday, when one boat sank. Sadly not all the crew were rescued.

One of the boats was in dry dock, which gave an opportunity to see views that are usually not visible.
The sunset was behind us on the way home, so I had to make a plan while driving!
Shirley commented that 25% of people are morning people, 25% night owls, and 50% neutral. I don't know which category I fit into, but I LOVE the early morning (It is just that I am often up and about at 2 am so I don't know if that qualifies as morning or night!)
We had a gorgeous sunrise yesterday. In fact I got so carried away that I grabbed my camera and rushed off down the street looking for the elusive perfect view of it, and only when a couple of cars had gone past, and the occupants has looked somewhat surprised, did I realize that I was wandering around the neighbourhood in my dressing gown! (I might add it is a TOTALLY DISREPUTABLE awful looking garment covered in assorted layers of paint...)

I think the faction who seem to think I might be a bit eccentric has had another boost, oh dear! So I hope you realise that these following photos were obtained at great cost to my personal reputation!

Fabulous skies...I love these photos. A lot of photo a day posts have featured sunrises and sunsets lately...perhaps that would help to determine who are night owls and who gets up early..!
I love to be up early, but it doesn't happen much lately..I need brighter mornings to get me out of bed.

I enjoy getting up early (except if I'm due to clean the oven or somethingequally distasteful...lol). Lovely photos you've taken. Sorry to hear there were losses during the storm. Passing my condolences to your community.
((hugs))

In fact the folk driving past probably didn't even notice what you were wearing....you weren't naked so that's all the matters! lol. The photographic results were worth it weren't they!

I think one can be early bird and night owl but not both at once. (if you retire early you can rise early.) Otherwise it is called burning the candle at both ends ( silly expression ) Sometimes I'm one ,other times I'm the other.

Heehee, Suzi-k, I love the idea of you wandering around in your dressing gown, and the photos are magic! Well worth it.

PS I finally got around to putting you in my bloglist.

This one made me chuckle, and the photos are beautiful. I love being up before the sun rises, when it's still dark. (Waking up at that time is a little bit harder, however.) Normally I am asleep by 10:30, but we just switched over to daylight savings time and my body thinks it's an hour earlier, so I have all of this energy now, but I'll pay in the morning, I'm afraid.

I think it would be so cool to be thought of as eccentric!!!

Wonderful!
I feel all holiday now!
I am a night bird....would much rather get all my jobs done last thing! But I do love waking up to the sun! Then I HAVE to get up!

What beautiful shots...I'm so glad to hear that someone else has had a "dressing gown" incident too! Gives you real street cred as an eccentric artist, lol. Back in SA I was always a morning person, loving the quiet at dawn before the rest of the world woke up but now, I don't know anymore? Guess it's just age ;)
