Skywatch Friday....something Fishy going on!

Well, due to pressure of time, and feeling bad about not being able to reciprocate visits, I had withdrawn from Skywatch Friday. But Mr T has graciously assured me that all is understood, and even the odd visit to a new member is fine. So here I am, and I must say it is such fun looking for interesting skies, so I am pleased to still be part of the group, even if only a rather lame duck one lingering on the fringes!

Tom did a fascinating post recently showing a "mackerel sky". It is not a phrase I am familiar with, so I was wondering, would the top two of these photos be mackerel skies, or is it not the same thing?

The bottom one was so apt, at Port St Francis where we often see whales, here is a whale tail cloud in the sky!

Cheers, have a great weekend everyone!

Hi Suzi-K
Welcome back... see how much we would miss if you had not posted these.. I would say the top two are Mackeral Skies for sure.. and very beautiful ones at that.. and of course the Whale is a beauty as well.. Sea Skies all the way then...
Thank you Suzi for joining back in with the fun and for adding to Sky Watch by being apart of it.

Outstanding! As with the others, I'm unfamiliar with the "technical' terms; the only thing that comes to mind is ahhh, and OOooo.... these are stunning.... definitely perfect contributions to skywatch.

Thank you for your kind comments to my blog. Apparently lots of folks out there were concerned and as I was too. It's good to be back amongst the living!
Have a wonderful weekend.

I know the Tom photos you are speaking about and I had never heard (or seen) of them either. But your clouds I have seen! And Tom says they are mackeral. You shot beautiful photos.
