we are back at croick cottage

Hi all, well lots going on today. We are back working on the old lady, more stripping etc (and if you are new to this blog, before you think we are some sort of strange perverts, read HERE to find out which old lady I am refering to!
So here's a brief update, and some of the promised daily photos, but not much else because grandpa John and Yvonne are coming for a visit from Knysna, and the house is A TIP! So as soon as this is done I'm off to wield a vacuum cleaner (although I think a magic wand would be much nicer, anyone know where I can get one!!)

Before we go inside, look how cute the patio looks in the sun, this is a panorama so a bit distorted.
And here is the main bedroom balcony,
from which the sea looked wild and choppy today....
Our little guard dog was back on duty on the roof outside the back door...
and PO, you got your first mail addressed to you at your new house! (OH RATS, it's a bill!)
You will be glad to hear that the cistern which leapt off the wall last year is back on, and the awful holes in the wall plastered and ready for painting.
And we painted the entrance hall a stunning shade of blue, look how cool it looks when the light reflects through the stained glass loo door onto the side walls!
The staircase got a coat of paint, it's funny how something doesn't look too bad till you start cleaning up around it, and then the comparison shows up how awful it is.... look at the contrast between the old "white" paint and the new!
And this is the wall above the blue one on the first floor, with a little tease glimpse into the bathroom, but this is ALL you are going to see till it is finished!
And, finally, the end wall in the lounge got its first coat of purple suede paint!
OK that's it, hope you enjoy the photos....
Since I was on the patio yesterday, doing the doo doo doo thing, I looked around and saw that our funny little grey bushes are flowering. This morning I stood next to these pillars to take the ddd, and saw them in a new light...

What a lovely house and what a lucky couple having you to get it in order.
I love the photo of the sunset, bottom right hand corner.

The work on the old lady is coming along....loved your comment about stripping! Love that blue wall with the stained glass door.
All the photos you have on today are just gorgeous. I like the one of the little pillars. I'm always attracted by photos of architectural things like that.

I love all these photos, but especially the ocean view and the blue entry hall. Those make me feel happy!
