inspiring architecture

This building is an "artist's folly" in Khartoum, Sudan. The owner is a well know artist who had the dream of building a really different retreat for artists. Financially it has been less than successful, many have advised him to open it up to the public as a boutique hotel, but he has been determined to keep it for artists.

I hope I get a chance to stay there one day, I find funky places like this so inspiring. We had a plot at Cape St Francis for a few years, and this is just the sort of building I visualised to build there...... one day, who knows?......

Hi Suze, I'm finally catching up with everyone again!
I like buildings like this. In fact I love unusual architecture, and can't understand why I live in the boxy little house that I live in. It's home I guess..!
I admired the unusual buildings in Morocco earlier this year, and was told the insides of some of the shabbiest ones are palatial, it's just not done to be ostentatious.
I love the new look, the banner is awesome..!

Hi Sheila, good to see you out and about again! I guess it's fine to live in a boxy little house (I do too) as long as you get to travel and enjoy the unusual stuff too.... you are really lucky to have been to Morocco, I adore their architecture too!
